2. Introduction:
Amygdalin, also known as laevomandelonitrile or laetrile, is a glycoside initially isolated from the seeds of the tree Prunus dulcis, also known as bitter almonds, by Pierre-Jean Robiquet and A. F. Boutron-Charlard in 1830, and subsequently investigated by Liebig and Wö Hler in 1830. Several other related species in the genus of Prunus, including apricot and black cherry, also contain amygdalin.
3. Functions:
1) Bitter almond contains amygdalin, amygdalin intestinal microbial enzymes in the body, or can be itself contained in the bitter almond bitter almond bitter almond hydrolysis to produce small amounts of hydrocyanic acid and benzaldehyde, inhibit the respiratory center, to cough, asthma.
